What is the plan?

I am planning 3, well illustrated, books: 1908 - 1927, 1928 - 1945, and 1945 - 1968.

Part 1 'Frits Wiersma, racing cyclist 1908 - 1927' will also contain information about:

The ban on cycling races at public roads in The Netherlands
When Frits starts his career, Dutch cycling is already noticeable in decline for 10 years. Since 1905 there is a ban on cycling races at public roads. After 1918 the Dutch cycling climat becomes slightly better. But the ban on races stays in force.

The impact of World War 1 on Dutch cycling
During World War 1 it is impossible to leave The Netherlands to enter bicycle races elsewhere. Many racing cyclist, Frits being one of them, are mobilized. Many mainly Belgian refugees cross the Dutch border. Among them some racing cyclists.

The Board of the Cycling Union versus the racing cyclists
Contantly there are conflicts between the Members of the Board of the Dutch Cycling League and cyclists. Frits also gets his conflicts with them.
Nevertheless he becomes Dutch Road Champion several times. And at the racing track he is also a steady winner.
